Residents appreciate the quiet, subdued way of life, and with so many outdoor resources and recreational opportunities, locals are always out riding bikes or walking through the pedestrian-friendly area.

Things to Do
There are so many fantastic and well-maintained parks in South Florida that it's hard to figure out the best ones to visit, but in Pinecrest, the 10-acre
Suniland Park is considered a favorite among parents. With a covered playground, a stunning coral gazebo, and a recreation center, Suniland has plenty to do.
Evelyn Greer Park is another 10-acre space with a gazebo, free Wi-Fi throughout, batting cages, a play area, and a recreation center.
Coral Pine Park is slightly smaller than Evelyn Greer or Suniland Park, but it's a natural green space with six lighted tennis courts and an all-purpose field. Located in the Village of Pinecrest, it's an idyllic spot for a family picnic or barbecue.
The
Pinecrest Farmers Market is an excellent place to spend a weekend morning. You will find a variety of items here — including unusual things you won't find anywhere else, like uncommon fruits or vegan specialties. Vendors sell everything from fresh produce and ceviche to arts and crafts.
There are two botanical gardens in the area:
Pinecrest Gardens and
Fairchild Tropical Gardens. Pinecrest Gardens has a fascinating history as the original site of the theme park Parrot Jungle. Today, the gardens encompass more than 14 acres of vibrant, lush foliage. Also known as the South Florida Cultural Arts Center, the gardens showcase natural attractions in addition to hosting year-round community events and festivals.
Fairchild Tropical Gardens is larger, with more than 80 acres of tropical gardens, coastal and rainforest habitat. It is one of the country's premier botanical gardens.
